Second Battle of Yerps
Soon after arriving in Europe, Canadian soliders were sent to help the French and the British near Yerps, Belgium. In April 1915 Germans released Chlorine Gas. The Germans advanced was stopped but Canadaians suffered more than 6000 casualties. Both sides used Chlorine Gas attacks during the war but gas dispersed quickly, and if the wind changed the gas could backfire. To protect themselves soliders wor gas masks or urine covered cloth on there faces.
